Russian News & Information Agency RIA Novosti has launched a new educational project on its English language website.

The project was designed for an English-speaking audience to learn Russian. The multimedia nature of this project makes a game of learning.

Quizzes, images, dialogues, audiovisual games, Russian rock and news supported with audio files – all this makes learning Russian grammar, vocabulary and phonetics easy.

“We want to show everyone that it is not that difficult to speak Russian, and you can have fun learning it,” said the project author, Zlata Karlova, a linguist, teacher and translator.

The project was designed for people at a range of levels – from beginners to those with advanced language skills. The Have Fun with Russian project includes the themed section: Business in Russia. This is a resource for all those who want to find learn business vocabulary and the idiosyncracies of the Russian economy.

Learners can practice pronunciation and fixed expressions by listening to audio clips that make it easier to remember texts and visual content. How to say it in Russian podcasts help people polish their spoken Russian.

Travel in Russia is another key section of this project. People interested in learning Russian can read about the history and beauty of Russian cities and take virtual tours of many outstanding places.

The project author will also answer users’ questions and offer advice on various aspects of the language.

The project will soon launch a Facebook page.
