Gerard Depardieu arrives in Armenia to participate in festival

Famous French actor Gerard Depardieu has arrived in the Armenian capital of Yerevan last night to participate in Karot festival, local media reported.

This is the first actor's visit to Armenia. Depardieu will participate in the award ceremony of Karot festival as a guest of honor.

During the visit Depardieu is expected to meet with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.

Gerard Depardieu has starred in Mon oncle d'Amerique (1980), La Chevre (1981), Cyrano de Bergerac (1990), Green Card (1990), The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) and Paris, je t'aime (2007), as well as the Asterix & Obelix films.
