On August 18, 2010 the authorities in Moscow decided to limit the sales of alcohol at night. These measures are already in force in a number of Russian regions. <br />Thus, for example, almost all big supermarkets in Stavropol, south Russia, have introduced a special system at cashier desks that blocks the sales of strong alcohol drinks in the evening and at night in line with the governmental decree.<br />In Moscow, the time period when strong alcohol beverages are banned for sale will be extended from September 1 by three hours – from 22.00 to 10.00. After introducing a curfew for strong spirits, the Moscow authorities are looking at limiting the sales of beer.
