The Taiwanese pavilion at Expo-2010 World Exhibition will be sold for $13 million, the Shanghai Daily paper said on Wednesday.
Bidders may submit applications up to September 15. The future owner of the pavilion will have the right to reassemble it on the one of the following islands: Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen or Matsu.
The price includes the pavilion’s globe-shaped theater, logo, the pavilion's metal frame, LED screen and flying-lantern platform. The items will be shipped back to Taiwan for reassembly.
The 2010 Shanghai World Expo is being held from May 1 to October 31, 2010. More than 200 countries, regions, international organizations and big companies are taking part in the event.
The future of the majority of the Expo-2010 pavilions has not yet been defined. Several countries put up their pavilions with a view to taking them out of China after the end of the exhibition. Others intend to leave them in China.
