TBILISI, August 23 (RIA Novosti) - A large part of the Georgian capital was left without electricity following an incident at a thermal power plant, a local news agency said Wednesday.
An automatic power control system malfunctioned after a roof collapsed at the Tbilisi TPP. The incident left 40,000 residents of the capital, a hospital at the state university, a maternity clinic and an emergency care unit without electricity.
Tbilisi Mayor Temur Kurkhuli said it could take several days to restore power.
